About Us

MARINONI was founded in the 1920s and quickly established itself in the Port of Genoa, standing out for its wide range of services and activities dedicated to ships, both in the fields of repair and construction.

Until the end of World War II, MARINONI specialized primarily in flooring works, the preparation and cementation of freshwater tanks, degassing of double bottoms, fuel oil tanks and cargo holds, as well as mechanical and chemical descaling of large boilers and marine engines.

In the 1950s, MARINONI moved beyond its artisanal roots and, in the context of the post-war economic boom, reorganized itself to meet the demands of the golden age of large passenger ships in the 1960s, including the GUGLIELMO MARCONI, GALILEO GALILEI, F. COSTA, E. COSTA, MICHELANGELO, and RAFFAELLO.

The company’s activities included all specialized finishing works: smoothed surfaces, hand-polished stucco with pumice, and painted finishes imitating wood and marble.

During the 1980s, the rise of commercial vessels—such as oil tankers and chemical carriers—provided new opportunities for MARINONI to further expand and strengthen its expertise in painting and sandblasting.

By the late 1990s, now in its fourth generation, MARINONI embraced the optimistic spirit of private enterprise by restructuring, forming alliances and partnerships with companies offering operational synergies, thus expanding its scope of action. The company diversified, patented new products and technical solutions, and developed new professional competencies along with the necessary equipment.

MARINONI is specialized in all types of marine substrates, including those used in offshore applications, utilizing either its own materials or those for which it has signed exclusive agreements with the manufacturers.

Moreover, MARINONI has long-standing expertise in passenger ships, yachts, and offshore platforms, with a patented solution that has been an integral part of its naval operations and safety-related applications for over 20 years.
